Writing Circles
I was introduced to Donna Jenson withTime To Tell through a short writing circle workshop. I had already been journaling and trying out a writing circle was a natural next step. I was not a writer, but I didn’t care. Letting the pen hit the paper was such a relief. Being part of Donna Jenson’s writing circle, Time To Tell was another safe place to express myself. Her mantra “Telling is Healing” has proved to be true for me with every writing.
I am now a Leader and Moderator for Time To Tell writing circles and I host my own Survivor Forest circles. My Survivor Forest Circles create a space for childhood sexual abuse survivors to write their “tree story”.
No one knows why
by Joanne Kirves
No one knows.
I cry harder, no one knows why.
Why my pain is greater, no one knows why.
Why I want to be alone, no one knows why.
Why I can’t let her in, no one knows why.
My Mom knows, now.
My grief for her is my shield for healing.
Poor little girl.
Pee Wee just can’t handle it.
No one knows why.
